Bob Bond is a Houston estate planning attorney and Certified Public Accountant. His practice is devoted to estate planning, probate and related legal documents. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Economics. He served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Bond retired after 20 years of distinguished service that included positions as Executive Officer for a 550-man Armor Battalion, the Training Officer for the 18,000 soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, and the Inspector General for the Montana National Guard.
During his military career, he earned a Masters Degree in Accounting and passed the CPA Examination. After his retirement, he returned to Texas to go to law school and put down roots. At St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi (the national honor society for law students), the Board of Advocates, he participated in numerous mock trials, and was selected for Who’s Who Among American Law Students. Immediately after law school, he worked for Arthur Andersen & Company where he assisted clients with personal financial planning and tax planning. He then worked for Smith-Moore & Associates, where he worked in the area of estate planning and asset protection. Mr. Bond is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas and the College of the State Bar (an organization for attorneys who have maintained a high degree of continuing professional education).
He believes that estate planning and is one of the most interesting and civilized parts of the law. The vast majority of Americans have done no estate planning. Confusion and misinformation rule the day. He believes that he can be of service to others by educating the public about the benefits of estate planning and helping clients plan for their families and loved ones. Likewise, seniors have no idea that they have a need for Medicaid estate planning. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission are not allowed to give legal and financial advice with regards to qualification. Many spend-down needlessly because they don’t understand the rules. Bob “a retired army officer” recognizes the need to help our service men and woman, thus as a Veteran’s Benefit Attorney, Bob seeks to help our war time veterans who need financial help when facing long-term care.
